Hi, I’m Bobby Housel

What do you need to know about me?

here’s the tldr;

i’m just a guy trying to experience every beautiful little thing the world has to share with me

I love bringing people together, creating things, telling stories, building companies, and going on crazy adventures.

I currently work as the first hire at Verci, a highly curated social community and co-working space for NYC’s most talented founders, builders, artists, and creatives.

Some of my favorite stories to tell over a beer or while chillin in a hot tub/sauna:

  • the time i finessed my way into the cannes film festival, monaco grand prix, and french open for free in the same week

  • 10 days in silence, doing nothing but meditating, at a retreat center in the middle of nowhere

  • sneaking into the kentucky derby

  • doing standup comedy on one of the world’s biggest stages

  • hosting a party with every kid named “yash” at the university of michigan

Here’s the longer story:

I went to University of Michigan and studied business and film. I built businesses, made films, shot photography, and went on crazy adventures!

  1. I published my first book! It’s a collection of short stories and poems chronicling mundane, beautiful, challenging, and moving moments from rural, blue collar America

3. I fell in love with bringing people together. I hosted crazy, unique, and powerful events.

I found a real spark when I started a community for some of college’s most talented founders. I hosted more weekend retreats than I can remember, created cross campus connectivity between some of the most ambitious young builders, and syndicated over $200k in pre-seed capital. It all culminated in me starting a “hacker house” in Austin, Texas for 10 incredible college founders.

I spent just under a year living and working in rural Liberia. After leaving Liberia I travelled around Asia living out of a 30 liter backpack for 3 months.

This year I’m training for my first full length Ironman and excited to release my first feature length documentary.

Some other stuff on my bucket list for 2026:

  • going back to cannes film festival

  • running with the bulls in spain

  • shoot a cinematic sketch comedy

  • first acting seminar class

  • see the northern lights

  • fall in love (or something like that)

  • a bunch of other zany adventures you may or may not care abuout

This is me in my friend’s photo studio in Brooklyn NYC (where I currently live as of February 2026 when I updated this site last). I was long overdue for a new headshot and two of my closest friends and I decided to turn it into a little friends photo shoot 📸

sincerely, bobby:)

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and fell in love with entrepreneurship and photography in high school!

I did a bunch of different stuff in college, but there were 3 things that I’m most proud of.

2. I made my first feature length documentary. For 5 months, I embedded myself in the Michigan homelessness ecosystem and partnered closely with six individuals, building the film around sustained access and lived time rather than quick interviews. The goal is to show how homelessness begins, how it changes someone, and what “getting out” actually looks like.

I graduated from University of Michigan and moved to Liberia (West Africa) 2 weeks later to work as a volunteer teacher in the Peace Corps. I wanted to do something totally different, give back before life got in the way, and challenge everything I thought I knew about the world.

I came back to the US and moved to NYC to start work as the first hire at Verci.

I love my job so much! I get to spend my days hanging out with amazing and inspiring people. I remain deeply in love with creating spaces that help world changers chase their passions and create lifelong memories and friendships along the way.

I love meeting new people! I’m not hard to get ahold of. If you wanna chat, hit me up :)
